Some rules guide us positively, while others can hold us back from becoming highly effective coaches. New coaches often create stories about needing to follow a process or use a tool, ask complicated questions, complete numerous coaching courses, or even build a website and have business cards, etcetera, which can prevent them from coaching in a way that truly embodies the core competencies of coaching—the ways of being and doing as a coach—that foster transformation and life-changing experiences.
